A Warm Welcome awaits you. Set in the middle of the picturesque village of Cobham, Built in 1629, during the reign of Charles I our attractive half-timbered inn was a royalist meeting place during the civil war. The Inn became known as The Leather Bottle around 1720 when a Leather Bottle containing gold sovereigns was found on the premises.

Today, it is a charming old pub renowned throughout the county for its Dickensian associations and the whole building conveys the atmosphere of those times. Original paintings etchings and memorabilia cover the walls in abundance. The great man himself not only used the inn and often stayed in Room 6 but also featured it in The Pickwick Papers for it was here that the lovelorn Mr Tracy Tupman fled after being jilted by his sweetheart Rachel Wardle, where he drowned his sorrows in Mr Pickwick's company.
